Description

The Clinical Trial Analyst is responsible for developing Coverage Analyses (CAs), negotiating clinical trial budgets, and supporting the financial feasibility of industry-sponsored, co-operative group, and investigator-initiated clinical trials. This position collaborates with investigators, study teams, research finance, hospital departments, contracting, and sponsors to ensure accurate budget development, regulatory billing compliance, and timely study activation.

The Clinical Trial Analyst serves as the financial and billing compliance expert during study startup by interpreting clinical trial protocols, distinguishing research versus standard-of-care procedures, and negotiating budgets.



Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain coverage analysis grids and billing matrices. 
  • Ensure research billing compliance and accurate designation of routine care versus research-only services. 
  • Review study protocols, informed consent forms, investigator brochures, and study calendars.
  • Lead financial negotiations with sponsors and Contract Research Organizations (CROs). 
  • Negotiate fair market value reimbursement for study procedures and administrative activities. 
  • Review sponsor budget templates and prepare redlined budget revisions. 
  • Partner with Contracts Administration to ensure consistency between negotiated budgets and Clinical Trial Agreements.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs, Contracts, Investigators, and Clinical Research Coordinators to facilitate timely study activation.
  • Represent the Finance Team in Start Up Meetings, Clinical Disease Site Team Meetings, and Site Initiation Visits.
  • Ensure alignment between protocol, budget, consent language, and contract payment terms.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in a related field is required. 

  • Understanding of research billing compliance.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial agreements.  
  • Experience developing clinical trial budgets.
  • Experience negotiating sponsor budgets preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with investigators, sponsors, and institutional stakeholders.
  • Skilled in prioritizing, planning, and organizing assignments; working effectively under tight schedules, and completing tasks in a timely manner.  
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and databases.
