Description

CRS Temporary Housing is a leader in our industry providing temporary housing solutions to individuals who are displaced from their home due to loss. Working with insurance companies and the policyholders, we provide a variety of solutions to make this difficult time easier. As the Cloud Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the cloud infrastructure strategies for CRS Temporary Housing's AWS ecosystem. Your primary focus will be on developing efficient, secure, and scalable cloud solutions while evaluating and integrating various cloud applications, hardware, and software. You will also play a critical role in monitoring and managing cloud services to ensure seamless cloud adoption and usage. Additionally, you will ensure the availability, performance, and scalability of CRS's cloud services. Your responsibilities will include managing cloud service costs and budgets, overseeing cloud security measures, and collaborating with the CISO to maintain robust security protocols. You will play a pivotal role in operationalizing cloud services and ensuring they meet the business's requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Implement Cloud Infrastructure:
Develop comprehensive AWS cloud infrastructure strategies aligning with CRS's business goals.
Architect and implement cloud solutions leveraging AWS services to meet scalability, reliability, and security requirements.
Create detailed cloud architecture designs, including network, storage, and compute resources.
Evaluate Cloud Applications, Hardware, and Software:

Assess and select appropriate cloud applications, hardware, and software to optimize performance and cost-efficiency.
Conduct regular reviews of existing cloud technologies and recommend upgrades or changes as necessary.
Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud trends and advancements to inform decision-making.
Develop Cloud Adoption Plans:

Create and execute comprehensive cloud adoption plans that facilitate smooth transitions from on-premises to cloud environments.
Define and implement best practices for cloud adoption, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address potential adoption challenges.
Monitor Cloud Brokerage Services:

Oversee the performance and usage of cloud brokerage services, ensuring they meet organizational needs.
Develop and implement monitoring tools and processes to track cloud service performance, availability, and usage.
Address any issues or inefficiencies in cloud brokerage services promptly.
Ensure Availability, Performance, and Scalability of Cloud Services:

Monitor and manage cloud service performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
Implement and maintain processes for scaling cloud services to meet changing demands.
Conduct performance tuning and optimization for cloud applications and infrastructure.
Manage Cloud Service Costs and Budgets (Consumption):

Develop and manage cloud service budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Implement cost-monitoring tools and practices to track cloud consumption and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Provide regular reports on cloud spending and consumption to key stakeholders.
Oversee Cloud Security Measures:

Collaborate with the CISO to implement and maintain cloud security measures and protocols.
Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulations.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.
Player-Coach Responsibilities (80% Player, 20% Coach):

Act as a technical lead, contributing to hands-on AWS architecture and engineering tasks.
Mentor and guide junior team members, providing technical direction and support.
Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in cloud engineering and operations.
Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
Experience:

Minimum of 7 plus years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering, with a strong focus on AWS.
Proven track record of designing and implementing complex cloud solutions.
Experience with cloud infrastructure management and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
Strong understanding of networking, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
Proven track record in cost management and budget planning for cloud services.
Experience in implementing and managing cloud security measures.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch).
Skills:

Deep knowledge of AWS services, architecture, and best practices.
Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, services, and operations.
Sharp and creative problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, Shell).
Proficiency in cloud management and automation tools.
