Job Description - CMM Programmer

The CMM Programmer will bring technical leadership and GD&T knowledge to the metrology lab. This team member will manage the layout schedule, gage calibration database, and supervise the technical needs on daily assignments. The CMM Programmer will make sure that the various set ups and programs for the CMM and other equipment are properly done following guidelines of the most current GD&T standards. 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow all the Anchor Principles, Guidelines, Policies and Procedures
  • Maintain an elevated level of housekeeping and organization within the Metrology Lab
  • CMM programming and operating as required to support product launches, PPAP, Tool Development, Production Problem Solving
  • Produce written reports and make presentations. Provide technical reports to support PPAP, Annual layouts, continuous improvement and other activities as required
  • Conduct part certification layouts using manual instruments and CMM inspection methods
  • Analyze measurement data and advise Tooling and Quality Engineers concerning dimensional issues
  • Coordinate and participate in PPAP measurements, including gage capability, gage R&R, CMM Capability, and part layout
  • Maintain calibration of gages and measuring instruments
  • Coordinate measurement, programming, and gage verification services with suppliers
  • Assist Quality Engineering as needed with sorts, gage instructions, process audits, print ballooning, and dimensional reports
  • Train others in all aspects of the quality system and application of procedures
  • Performs internal and process audits of the QMS
  • Actively participate in APQP with project team members
  • Identify and implement advances in lab measurement equipment and methods
  • Maintains Lab Scope and any other pertinent QMS-related documentation of the Metrology organization
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Significant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive
  • Strong knowledge of the latest Automotive tools and techniques
  • Automotive Quality Management System Auditing experience and managing audit programs
  • Basic knowledge with automotive PPAP, APQP, SPC, PFMEA requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimensional and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods and inspection gage/tool design and certification techniques
