Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Plainview, Texas is a 20 bed, acute geriatric psych facility located in Plainview, Texas. We are looking for individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of our patients who are 50 years or older and has experience as a CNA or Mental Health Technician (preferably in the Mental Health Field). Teamwork, team development and team training are all key qualities for this position. CNA and/or Mental Health Techs are responsible for providing assistance in daily patient care as well provide mental health services for direct patient care, assist patients with daily activities such as group therapy, recreational activities, daily hygiene, etc. 

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) role or Mental Health Technician is to function as a member of the nursing staff to facilitate quality patient care.

-  The CNA or Health Technician supports the licensed nursing staff to ensure the needs of the patients are met by performing routinely assigned tasks and carrying out patient care activities within the scope of the CNA’s training and experience.

-  Provides direct patient care to assigned patients ensuring that the patients activities of daily living are met. They are primarily responsible for the day-to-day custodial care of the patients. The CNA or Health Technician assist with providing a therapeutic safe environment for the patients.

-  The CNA or Health Technician
utilizes a basic knowledge of nursing skills and communicate the medical and emotional needs of the patients to the licensed nursing staff.  The CNA or Health Technician is the visible presences of the nursing staff on the unit and are readily available to the patients for the patient’s day to day needs. In addition, they perform assigned duties and interventions as directed by the licensed nurse to fulfill the prescribed orders of the medical staff.

-  The CNA or Health Technician
communicates identified findings observed with the patients to the licensed nursing staff. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assistance in the overall day-to-day functioning of the program including aiding other staff in patient chart production, meal provision, answering telephones and supervision of patients during staff break periods. 

All candidates must be eligible to work in the State of Texas as a Nursing Assistant (preferably Certified) or Health Technician. 

Shift Differential offered for nights and weekends!!!
