Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages, including those with developmental disabilities and memory care needs.


Duties



  • Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.

  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.

  • Provide basic medical care under the supervision of nursing staff, including catheter care and medication administration.

  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Support patients with mobility using assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts.

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.

  • Engage in effective communication with patients and their families to provide emotional support and education about care processes.

  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.

  • Assist in emergency situations by applying basic life support techniques when necessary.


Requirements



  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred; critical care experience is a plus.

  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is desirable.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic medical documentation practices.

  • Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring memory or Alzheimer’s care.

  • Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures if required by the facility.

  • Strong understanding of patient service principles and the ability to provide compassionate care.

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred; additional certifications related to caregiving or specialized patient care are advantageous.
