Your Role: Under supervision, you'll provide essential nursing assistance and help residents with daily living activities.

What You'll Do:

  • Daily Care: Assist residents with dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair care, and incontinence care.
  • Meal Assistance: Obtain food trays and help residents with eating.
  • Exercise Support: Assist residents with range of motion exercises and movement to/from wheelchairs or activity areas.
  • Positioning: Help residents with turning and positioning in bed.
  • Ambulation: Assist residents with walking as needed.
  • Vital Signs: Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration rates, and food/fluid intake and output.
  • Answer Call Lights: Respond to call systems to determine resident needs.
  • Documentation: Document ADLs, personal care, and device use on flow sheets or task sheets.
  • Team Meetings: Attend interdisciplinary meetings to provide input on resident care plans.
  • Restorative Services: Document restorative services following facility policies.
  • Person-Centered Care: Provide care based on resident preferences.
  • Punctuality: Ensure regular attendance for assigned shifts.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with company policies, federal and state laws, and professional standards.

  • Quick Reaction: Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergencies.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and facility staff.
  • Compassion & Patience: Demonstrate compassion and patience.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain resident confidentiality.

Note: All employees must pass state-specific background checks before contact with patients/residents.

Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 

Licenses/Certification

  • Valid certification as a CNA in the state of employment.
  • Valid CPR certificate preferred.

Experience

  • Four-six months experience in a long term-care environment preferred.
