Nursing Assistant Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including hospitals and acute care facilities. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and support nursing staff in delivering exceptional patient care. A strong understanding of anatomy and infectious disease care is essential for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.


• Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.


• Provide support in the management of patients with acute care needs, including pediatrics.


• Utilize electronic health record systems like eClinicalWorks to document patient information accurately.


• Help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.


• Assist nursing staff with the use of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) as needed.


• Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide updates on care and address concerns.


• Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and care plans.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant or in a related healthcare role is preferred.


• Knowledge of anatomy and basic medical terminology is essential.


• Familiarity with infectious disease care practices is highly desirable.


• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.


• Strong interpersonal skills to interact compassionately with patients and families.


• Willingness to learn new systems and procedures related to patient care.


• Certification as a Nursing Assistant or completion of a relevant training program is required.
