Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Laser Operator/Programmer to operate and program a 6KW laser plate cutter with a shuttle table. The ideal candidate will have experience in laser cutting operations, including machine setup, programming, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance. This position plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality, efficient production of steel, aluminum, and other metal materials.

Key Responsibilities:

· Operate and program a 6KW CNC laser plate cutter with shuttle table.

· Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders.

· Prepare, load, and align sheet/plate materials accurately on the table.

· Optimize cutting paths and nesting layouts using CAD/CAM software (BySoft, SigmaNEST, etc.).

· Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain precision.

· Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance to reduce downtime.

· Inspect finished parts for quality and dimensional accuracy using calipers, micrometers, and other tools.

· Maintain accurate records of material usage and production data.

· Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

· Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure continuous improvement in workflow and output quality.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications preferred.

· 2+ years of experience operating and programming CNC laser cutting machines (preferably 6KW or higher).

· Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting tolerance specifications.

· Familiarity with shuttle table loading/unloading procedures.

· Strong understanding of cutting speeds and material properties for steel, aluminum, and other metals.

· Skilled in nesting and laser software (BySoft, SigmaNEST, or similar).

· Excellent mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
