CNC Laser Programmer/Operator

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Laser Operator to join our dynamic Fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in operating and programming CNC laser cutting machines, press brakes, and other metal fabrication equipment. This hands-on role is essential in producing high-quality metal components and supporting our manufacturing operations. In addition to laser operation, the candidate must be able to assist in running a CNC press brake and various fabrication machines as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, program, and operate CNC laser cutters for precision cutting of sheet metal and fabricated parts.
• Operate CNC press brakes and other forming equipment to bend, shape, or form metal components to specification.
• Program and run CNC mills as necessary for custom machining tasks.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to develop accurate machine programs.
• Inspect finished components to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality, using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and fabrication equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with engineers and fellow team members to improve processes, troubleshoot production issues, and meet project deadlines.
• Monitor production output for efficiency, quality, and adherence to specifications, making real-time adjustments as needed.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area in compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience operating and programming CNC laser cutters, press brakes, and  CNC mills in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Proficiency in G-code and familiarity with CNC programming software such as Fusion 360, Mastercam, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, machining principles, and working with various materials and thicknesses.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, CAD files, and work instructions accurately.
• High level of attention to detail,  quality, and craftsmanship.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative shop environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods during shifts.

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

• Experience with CAD/CAM design tools and nesting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SigmaNEST).
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Forklift certification or prior forklift operation experience is a plus.
