CNC Lathe and Swiss Machinist

The opportunity

We are looking for someone with practical lathe experience, basic machining knowledge, and an interest in developing further in CNC Swiss machining. Swiss experience is preferred, but candidates with a solid lathe foundation and the ability to learn will also be considered. This is a developing machinist role with support from experienced team members.

Proposed responsibilities

Operate assigned CNC lathe or Swiss equipment according to work instructions and established safety practices.

Monitor production, check parts, and communicate tooling, dimensional, or machine issues to the lead machinist.

Read part drawings and use appropriate measuring tools to verify work meets specifications.

Make routine adjustments and assist with tooling or setup activities within demonstrated skill level and training.

Develop Swiss machining skills through hands-on instruction and feedback from the team.

Maintain an organized work area and accurate production and inspection records as required.

Qualifications

Approximately 2–5 years of relevant machining experience is the target; practical skills and readiness to learn matter more than an exact year count.

Hands-on lathe experience and basic machining knowledge. CNC lathe experience and some Swiss exposure are preferred.

Ability to follow instructions, work carefully, and communicate when help is needed.

Interpretation of engineering blueprints and technical documents.

Knowledge in use of calipers, micrometers, gauge pins.

Salary:

Proposed hourly range: Approximately $25–$30, with some flexibility based on relevant experience.
