CNC Lathe Machinist II - 2nd shift

Description

Primus Aerospace is a leading manufacturing partner to aerospace, defense & space OEMs / Primes & Tier I suppliers. The company specializes in producing high-tolerance, complex geometry parts; machined out of standard and exotic metals. Primus works directly with all major aerospace manufacturers (e.g., Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop) to provide components to mission critical civilian and defense programs.

2nd shift: Monday–Friday, 3:30pm–2:30am

Flexible full-time (40+ hrs/week) or part-time (24–30 hrs/week) 

• Previous CNC Operator experience: lathe
• GD&T print reading
• Knowledge of calipers, micrometers, metrology.
• Experience with machine set-ups.
• Ability to indicate vices.
• Coordinate x, y, z
• Knowledge of machining principles.
• Operate CNC machines from provided work instructions from work order or set up personnel
• Verifying dimensional characteristics of parts
• Meet expected cycle times and production schedule
• Completion of all required paperwork in a timely manner
• Ability to operate multiple machines at one time

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of CNC operator experience, including at least 1 year of set-up work.
• Hands-on experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC Lathe machines: Mori, Sharp, HwaCheon, YeongChin, Mazak, HAAS, Hitachi Seiki, Doosan
• Proficient reading blueprints and applying GD&T principles.
• Experienced using precision tools: calipers, micrometers, and familiarity with CMMs.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, maintain production goals, and manage multiple machines concurrently.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong quality mindset, and safety-focused.
• Bonus: Experience in lean manufacturing environments or aerospace/defense machining.
