CNC Machinist

Job Overview

The CNC Machinist will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes to manufacture precision parts according to specifications. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret blueprints, GD&T specifications, and quality control processes. The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting machine and programming issues and ensuring production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes to produce precision components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T requirements to determine machining processes.
• Conduct quality control inspections to verify tolerances and make necessary adjustments.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and programming issues to maintain production efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on CNC lathe machines.
• Collaborate with team members to improve machining processes.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in CNC lathe programming and machining.
• Proficiency in CNC programming software such as PartMaker or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with 4th or 5th axis programming.
• Background in advanced machining techniques and process optimization.
• Familiarity with various CNC control systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
