CNC Machinist

Description

Essential Functions

• Basic computer skills 
• Ability to work overtime with little or no notice
• Advanced knowledge of blueprints and sketch interpretations to ensure proper fit and finish to parts
• Skilled at identifying and measuring appropriate surface finishes 
• Use appropriate tools to deburr and sketch parts
• Ability to set basic off-sets and efficient at probes for off-set
• Operate lathe and 3-axis milling machines 
• Construct basic machine “G” codes and identify crash moves
• Construct touch off points and set tool lengths
• Advanced knowledge of machining terminology
• Advanced knowledge and practice in the use of precision measurement tools 
• Identify and adhere to all HSE policies and practices without prompting
• Experience and practice in submitting Concern Cards for Safety concerns
• Basic knowledge of and practice of 5S 
• Knowledge of Lean Methods and practice
• Adept verbal and written communication skills
• History of compliance to company policies and procedures
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
• Diagnose and trouble shoot equipment and process related problems
• Ability to rework damaged parts work under general supervision 
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Experience / Knowledge

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Authorized to work in the US
• 3 years’ experience in CNC machining or Machining Certificate from accredited Voc/tech
• Machining Certificate from accredited Voc/tech preferred
• Programming knowledge preferred

Work Environment

• Regular exposure to moving mechanical components, airborne fumes, and particles
• Exposure to heat, cold, wet and snow conditions
• Moderate noise levels
