CNC Machinist

Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist who can keep up with our fast-paced manufacturing environment to join our team. In this role, it requires set up of CNC machines according to blueprint specifications, selecting the appropriate fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials. The materials include metals, plastics, or alloys. The CNC Machinist will also check the product with precision measuring tools to ensure it follows all specifications and make any needed adjustments. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating CNC machines and a strong mechanical background. 

 Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the CNC machines to perform precision machining operations according to the blueprint specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Using precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges and coordinate measuring machines (CMM), inspect finished products for accuracy and conformance to specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the CNC machines, tooling, and equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and implement lean manufacturing principles.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GEN certificate.
• Completion of an apprenticeship or training program.
• Strong knowledge of machining principles, tooling, and materials.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Familiarity with canned cycle programming.
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) a plus.
• Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods.
• Familiarity with measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
