Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team and to grow with this vertically integrated powerhouse in the Critical Defense Infrastructure. As a Machinist, you will be working with a variety of machines and manufacturing equipment as needed and per blueprint or job order specifications. This role involves setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. The successful candidate will be able set up a job with no or minimal assistance. The amount of experience with Haas Mills/lathes, Fusion 360 and overall set-up will determine consideration. You will also be repairing and maintaining your equipment as needed, assisting other machinists with larger tasks, and maintaining a safe work environment. The ideal candidate has exceptional attention to detail, previous experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to work well with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes and milling machines.
- Program CNC machines using Fusion 360..
- Utilize tooling and fixtures effectively to ensure precision in machining processes.
- Perform in-process inspection to assure quality.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Document production processes and maintain accurate records of work performed
- Read blueprints or job orders and make adjustments to equipment as needed, often with precision tools
- Check final products for accuracy, and make adjustments to machines as needed to ensure the best final product
- Conduct basic maintenance and repairs on equipment in your care
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist doing set-up and programming for at least 5 years.
- Must read blueprints and technical drawings and interpret tolerance using GD&T.
- Experience with tooling setup and adjustments for various machining operations.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to learn new technologies like automation, probing, macro and parametric programming
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills
