CNC Machinist

CNC Machinist-2nd Shift (Hours 3:30 PM -12:00 AM) - Job description:

Seeking a reliable CNC Machinist to join the production team. This is a traditional shop-floor position focused on setting up equipment, running high-precision parts, and keeping production moving. In need someone who can confidently handle daily setups, navigate machine controls, and make necessary edits or offsets at the machine panel when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Setup & Operation: Perform full setups and run precision production parts on mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines.
• Program Edits: Read G-code to make independent program adjustments, tool wear updates, and offsets directly at the machine control panel.
• Tooling Selection: Select proper tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies for various materials and geometries.
• Quality Inspection: Interpret complex blueprints (GD&T) and use calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify tight tolerances.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the team to optimize cycle times, reduce tool wear, and log setup sheets for repeatable runs.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of hands-on CNC machining and setup experience (Required).
• Proven ability to read G-code and make program edits at the machine controller (Required).
• Strong proficiency reading blueprints, technical drawings, and understanding tight tolerances.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software like Fusion or Mastercam is a plus, but strong floor-machining skills are our priority.

Schedule:

• Shift: 2nd Shift - Hours: 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
• Overtime: Opportunities available, including occasional Saturdays.
