Job Description - CNC Machinist

Description

Overview

We’re hiring CNC Machinists for our precision medical manufacturing operation.

You’ll machine high-precision medical components on modern 3-, 4-, and true 5-axis CNC mills, horizontal machining centers with pallet changers, and advanced DMG equipment. This is a high-mix, low-volume environment where you’ll own independent setups, first-piece quality, process adjustments, and tight-tolerance production—not stand at one machine running the same part all day.

What makes this role different:

  • Significant income opportunity: 10-hours of overtime, 15% shift differential, and double-time after 56 hours.
  • 100% paid healthcare: Company-paid medical coverage.
  • Interesting work: High-mix, low-volume production with independent setups.
  • Modern equipment: True 5-axis mills, horizontal machining centers, and DMG machines.
  • Real training: 2+ month onboarding plus cross-training on additional equipment.
  • Long-term stability: Growing medical manufacturer investing in people and production.

Compensation

  • $75 - $85k / yr
  • $27–$32/hr
  • 10 hours guaranteed overtime / wk
  • Double-time pay after 56 hours

Shift

  • 2nd Shift
  • Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

  • Machine Setups: Perform independent setups and fixture changeovers.
  • Machine Operation: Run multiple CNC machines throughout each shift.
  • Tool Offsets: Make wear offsets and process adjustments.
  • Quality Inspection: Perform first-piece and in-process inspections.
  • Precision Measurement: Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment.
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret engineering drawings and complex job instructions.
  • Documentation: Record inspection results and production data in Epicor.
  • Operator Maintenance: Maintain coolant, lubrication, and machine readiness.
