JOB SUMMARY

Leitner-Poma of America, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated CNC Machinist to produce complex machined parts by setting up & operating manual machines as well as potentially program computer numerical control (CNC) machines; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; and maintaining equipment.

This is a full-time, hourly position currently hiring for night shifts & weekend shifts. See descriptions below for base pay structures & responsibilities. In addition to the base pay listed below, Leitner-Poma offers additional incentives for employees working our night shifts & weekend shifts. Employees working the night shift are provided $5.00 per hour night shift differential, and employees working the weekend shift (i.e. 12-hour shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays) will be compensated for a full 40-hours.

Requirements

CNC MACHINIST I – $19.00-$24.00 per hour based on relevant experience & certifications.

Essential Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain precision machine tools, including a drill press, manual lathe, manual milling machine, and other equipment to ensure quality & accuracy of finished products.
• Read and interpret moderately complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to manufacture precision metal parts.
• Measure and inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machine and tooling malfunctions.
• Understand and comply with company policy safety guidelines, quality systems requirements and housekeeping standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED equivalent.
• At least 1-2 years’ machine shop experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age. 
• Authorized to work in the United States of America.
• Proficient in the English language.

Desired Qualifications

• Previous experience in CNC programming & set-up/associates degree in machine school technologies.

CNC MACHINIST II – $21.00-$26.00 per hour based on relevant experience & certifications.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Performs all level I responsibilities listed above.
• Set up, program, operate, and maintain precision machine tools, including CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and other equipment.
• Train and mentor junior machinists and apprentices as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
• Meet expected throughput of production goals while maintaining 4 or fewer reject tags per year.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED equivalent.
• At least 1-2 years’ experience in CNC programming & set-up.
• Must be at least 18 years of age. 
• Authorized to work in the United States of America.
• Proficient in the English language.

Desired Qualifications

• At least 3-4 years’ experience in CNC Programming & setup/associates degree in machine school technologies.
