Job Description - CNC Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

We’re hiring a highly skilled CNC Maintenance Technician to join a true high-precision machine shop. You will be the technical backbone of an incredibly clean, modern shop floor equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, ranging from 5-axis mills to complex Swiss-style lathes.

In this multi-craft role, you will be responsible for ensuring our high-tech equipment runs at peak performance. To be successful, you must have a "fix-anything" mindset and deep, hands-on experience maintaining and repairing advanced CNC machinery. You will troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues—from reading complex schematics and diagnosing servo drives to rebuilding spindles and replacing precision ball screws.

We are looking for a driven problem-solver who wants to do the best work of their life. We back our team with extensive on-site training, unparalleled benefits, and a collaborative environment where you can truly expand your technical career.

Why Join Us?

  • Clean, climate-controlled, state-of-the-art manufacturing environment.
  • 100% company-paid medical care.
  • 50-hour standard schedule with unlimited, optional overtime available for those who want to maximize their earnings.

Compensation

  • $85k - $115k / yr
  • Unlimited optional overtime
  • Double-time pay for any hours worked over 56 in a week

Shift

  • Monday - Friday
  • 1st Shift: 5:45 AM – 4:15 PM
  • 50 hours / week standard schedule

Benefits

  • 100% Company-paid medical care
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Extensive on-site training and career development

Responsibilities

  • Advanced CNC Maintenance: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex electrical and mechanical issues on multi-axis CNC milling and turning equipment.
  • Multi-Craft Diagnostics: Quickly isolate root causes by bridging the gap between electrical and mechanical systems. Troubleshoot encoders, servo motors, drives, relays, and sensors.
  • Mechanical Rebuilds: Repair and replace critical machine components, including spindles, ball screws, linear guides, bearings, shafts, clutches, valves, and pumps.
  • Blueprint & Schematic Navigation: Read and interpret complex electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and layout blueprints to execute repairs and commission equipment.
  • Preventative Maintenance (PM): Execute rigorous preventative maintenance schedules to maintain the highest operating efficiency possible and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Fabrication & Modification: Utilize basic machines (welder, torches, manual mill, drill press, bandsaw) to fabricate minor machine parts, guards, and tooling required for continuous improvement.
  • Safety & 5S: Strictly utilize proper Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, adhere to OSHA standards, and champion 5S workflow principles when placing or repairing machinery.
  • Facility Support: Diagnose building issues and occasionally perform minor facility repairs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) to keep the overall plant operating smoothly.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience: Deep, proven experience in CNC machine maintenance. Know your way around the internal mechanics and electronics of modern CNC equipment.
  • Multi-Craft Competency: Strong fundamental knowledge across both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to confidently read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
  • Problem Solving: Exceptional ability to work problems from symptoms to root cause and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Safety-First Mindset: Uncompromising commitment to LOTO and workplace safety.
  • Physical & Dependability: Dependable daily attendance. Ability to stand for long shifts, crouch, reach, and safely operate lifting equipment (cranes, lifts) for moving machinery.

Preferred

  • Advanced Systems: Experience repairing specific high-end machine brands (e.g., DMG Mori, Makino, Mikron, Robodrill).
  • Industry Experience: Background in a high-precision, regulated manufacturing environment (aerospace, medical, ISO 9001).
  • Technology Adoption: Willingness to stay current with new technologies, automation, and advanced quality instruments.

Benefits

  • 100% Company-paid medical care
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Extensive on-site training and career development
