CNC Mill Machinists

Description

Duties of a CNC Mill Machinist

Set up and operate a variety of machines to produce precision parts to the customer's specifications and satisfaction while maintaining the machines by applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.

Requirements

CNC Mill Machinist Minimum Requirements

• Read and follow traveler instructions
• 3 axis to 5 axis CNC mill
• Load and unload material and parts
• Measure and document inspection data for self and peers
• Measure, document, maintain or improve on established production standards
• Read and interpret almost all blueprint dimensions, symbols, and notes
• Document counts
• Organize, clean, and maintain work area
• Complete discrepant tag information
• Communicate with Engineering on issues, needs, and improvements
• Perform All Set Ups
• Other functions as deemed appropriate

Physical Requirements

• Standing: This is an essential job function/physical requirement.
• Walking: This is an essential job function/physical requirement.
• Turning, twisting, bending, and stooping physical requirements are essential job functions.
• Pushing and Pulling- These physical requirements are essential job functions.
• Reaching, forward, and overhead are essential job functions /physical requirements.
• Lifting - employees must lift 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds.
