CNC Mill/Lathe Technician

Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking CNC Mill Lathe Technician to join our team! This person will support the Fuze Division at Picatinny Arsenal and will be reading mechanical drawings to determine stock sizes, tool lists and fixturing needs. Program, setup and run CNC/Lathe, CNC Mill and Manual Machinery. Inspection of mechanical parts using basic metrology tools and best practices. Basic understanding of GD&T, Ability to operate independently and adaptably. Maintain clear communications with team members and project leads. Assisting the Design Team with design modifications for Prototype Builds.  

What will you be doing?

This position will be a key member of the FUZE team.  Duties include:

• Program/Run CNC Mill (MasterCAM a plus)


• Program/Run CNC Lathe (MasterCAM a plus)


• Review drawings, instructions, blueprints to ensure accurate production.


• Machined part inspection using calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators


• System assembly


• Setup and Breakdown Machinery


• Selection/Procurement of Tooling


• Holding Tight Tolerances


• Interface with Engineering Counterparts

What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?

This position will require the following skillsets and experience:

• Technician Degree


• 3-5 + years of experience


• Software Experience: CAM (MasterCAM Mill/Lathe), CAD (CREO preferred)


• Machine Experience: Haas Mill (VF-3), Haas Lathe (DS-30YT), Fanuc/Robodrill (3+2), Manual Mill/Lathe


• Must have hands on capability in a lab setting and function comfortably as an electromechanical tech to build and prove out designs. (soldering, drilling, wiring, crimping, use of hand tools, etc)


• Must be able to Obtain Secret clearance


• Must be US Citizen
