About Demusz
In 1969 the company that Walter Demusz was working for as a machinist went bankrupt and was unable to pay him owed wages. A deal was made that instead of the wages he would receive two lathes and a Bridgeport. With the newly acquired equipment and help from his wife, Kazimiera, a small space was rented inside a warehouse in East Windsor, CT and the business began. In 1970 a larger space was rented in Bloomfield, CT and Hawk Precision Co. was formed. In 1971 the business moved again to a larger space in South Windsor, CT. In 1978 land was purchased in East Hartford, CT, at our present location, and a building was built by 1979.
In 1980 the building was expanded as more space was needed for the growing business. By 1982 both of Walter’s and Kazimiera’s sons, Waldemar and Wes, had entered into the business and the company was incorporated and officially renamed to Demusz Mfg. Co., Inc. In 1996 the building was expanded to create new space for the inspection department. In 1998 Wes’s wife, Roma, joined the business. In 2008 the largest expansion to date was completed, which effectively doubled the manufacturing space. In 2010 Waldemar’s son, Alex, joined the business making him the third generation family member. Also in 2010 new spaces were made for gage control and engineering offices.
