CNC Operator

A family-owned Chicago job shop, machining big, custom workpieces since the mid-1970s, is hiring CNC Machinists immediately. Our work serves steel mills, oil & gas, mining, food processing, automation, and power generation — no two jobs alike.

What you'll do:

• Set up and run large-part jobs on CNC vertical mills and CNC horizontal/vertical lathes
• Read blueprints and plan your own setups, workholding, and tooling
• Basic programming at the control (2D, 3-axis mills; 2-axis lathes)

What you bring:

• Hands-on CNC mill and lathe experience with full setup responsibility
• Comfort with large, heavy, custom parts and fabrications — not high-volume production
• Print reading and at-the-machine programming skills

Pay & schedule:

• $30–$40/hr based on experience
• Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM; optional Saturdays (7 AM–noon). 50+ hrs/week with OT at time-and-a-half — great money for machinists who want the hours
