Job Description - CNC Operator

Position Summary: 


The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes to produce high-quality parts according to blueprints and specifications. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accuracy and consistency throughout the machining process. 


Key Responsibilities: 



  • Operate Okuma CNC lathes to machine parts to required dimensions and tolerances. 



  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine machining instructions. 



  • Select, install, and align proper tooling and fixtures. 



  • Measure and inspect finished workpieces using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools. 



  • Make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards. 



  • Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure a clean, organized work area. 



  • Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment. 



  • Communicate any issues or irregularities to the supervisor promptly. 


Qualifications: 



  • High school diploma or equivalent. 



  • 2+ years of experience operating a manual lathe preferred. 



  • Strong understanding of machining principles, feeds, speeds, and materials. 



  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use measuring instruments accurately. 



  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 


Physical Requirements: 



  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. 



  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for precise machining work. 



  • Tolerance for moderate noise and shop environment conditions.
