CNC Operator - 2nd Shift (1:30PM - 10:00PM)

CNC Operator – Sparta, TN

We currently have an opening within our CNC Department for a CNC Operator at our Sparta, TN facility.

This full-time, hourly position reports directly to the CNC Production Lead and/or Supervisor and will be responsible for operating CNC machinery to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts under minimal supervision. Work must be performed within specified dimensions, per engineering drawings, quality control tolerances, and efficiency expectations outlined in each work order.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

A qualified applicant must be able to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.

• Properly and safely load and unload castings and raw materials in CNC machinery.

• Use gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.

• Understand and perform tool wear offsets.

• Conduct daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance of CNC machinery.

• Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.

• Maintain flexibility with time and schedule to ensure availability as company or customer needs require.

Other (Non-Essential) Functions

• Contribute to a team effort by proactively assisting internal contacts.

• Attend training programs to develop relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; AND

• Two years of experience operating CNC lathes, mills, and/or turn mills.

• Basic math skills (minimum 8th-grade level).

• Considerable knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade.

• Proficiency with calibrated measurement equipment (dial indicators, depth micrometers, OD/ID micrometers, etc.).
