JOB OVERVIEW

The press brake operator will maximize profits and reputation of the company by coordinating activities in regard to the press brake, while maintaining a high level of work quality, responsiveness and efficiency. This role will require a strong commitment to meeting quality standards.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Press Brake Operator will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization and flow of parts through the press brake area.
• Ensure a safe work environment for all shop and warehouse employees by following OSHA guidelines.
• Work directly with the shop foreman to efficiently manage each job, including crew, equipment, materials, and quality of work.
• Ensure proper clock-in/clock-out procedures for jobs and projects are adhered to.
• Participate in daily pre and post shift meetings to ensure production delays in the manufacturing process are minimized and on time delivery of jobs is maximized. 
• At times works with estimating to determine manufacturing and delivery quoting schedules / dates. 
• Work to control operational costs and expenses in the warehouse and shop.
• Work to ensure all Company policies are followed.
• Help in the process of cross training other members of the shop crew.
• Responsible for an end of job review/inspection of parts to guarantee the job was completed to company standards tolerance. 
• Submit timely and accurate paperwork as required by our quality management system.
• Willing to help in other aspects of the shop such as welding, driving a forklift, when workloads do not warrant full shifts on the press brake.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Able to plan, organize and manage materials, tools in relation to the press brake machine and its surrounding area.
• Ability and willingness to help in the preventive maintenance procedures of the machine.
• Some experience welding, fabricating and knowledge of manufacturing processes a bonus.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and job orders to determine specifications.
• Setting up and operating the press brake machine to bend, punch, form, or shape metal plates.
• Using precision measuring tools like calipers and protractors to ensure accuracy.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Education: GED, Highschool diploma
• Minimum Experience: 
• 2-5 years Manufacturing experience running a CNC Press Brake.
• 2-5 years welding experience with welding certificates. (preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking/sitting
• Manual dexterity and mobility
• Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
• Visual and auditory acuity

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Primarily in a shop / warehouse with lifting up to 50lbs, sitting and standing. Normal work week consists of four, ten hour days. Minimal computer work. Will require 10 hours per day and as needed overtime may include some early mornings, late evenings, and weekends
