Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:
Working in close collaboration with Operations Manager, supervise machinists and assign duties as necessary.
Must be capable to set-up, program, operate and maintain company machine tools, including multi-axis CNC mills and Lathes.
Follow operating procedures, engineering instructions, and other recognized methods of instructions. Advise management on procedural effectiveness and suggest appropriate improvements on a continuous basis
Work with machinists, to ensure they have what is needed to succeed on a continuous basis. Advise upper management accordingly.
Carefully plan and prepare using blueprints or written specifications to calculate operations.
Work directly with CNC Programming team to Plan and Document the best sequence of operations to achieve budget and schedule targets.
Organize and prepare production schedules
Set daily, weekly, monthly objectives for team
Monitor production output and ensure it meets company standards
Understand, administer, and enforce all safety and compliance procedures to employees
Oversee and coach team members and train new employees
Other activities as may be directed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experienced and skilled in working within a multi-disciplined team environment
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Expert Knowledge of shop practices required.
Experience with Mastercam strongly preferred. Knowledge & understanding of CNC software tools and machine code (G code) is required.
Computer skills (especially Microsoft Office)
Detail oriented
Strong Communication skills and ability to motivate others
Strong problem-solving ability and independent decision making skills
Credentials and Experience
10 years experience as a CNC machinist, preferably in a job-shop environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
Post high school degree or apprentice program completion preferred.
Must be a US Citizen.
