This isn’t a button-pushing job. This is full-cycle programming, setup, and first-piece support for high-precision parts using mills, lathes, and multi-axis CNC machinery. You'll partner with engineering, ops, and quality teams to bring complex prototypes and production parts to life — right the first time.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Creating, editing, and optimizing CNC programs using Mastercam and SolidWorks
  • Setting up machines and ensuring flawless First Piece Inspections
  • Troubleshooting equipment like a champ and mentoring machinists on best practices
  • Analyzing drawings, selecting tooling, dialing in speeds/feeds, and solving production puzzles
  • Tracking program updates, improving processes, and driving continuous improvement
  • Collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver elite results
     

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 6–9 years of hands-on CNC programming experience with Mastercam & SolidWork
  • Strong background in setup and operation of CNC/manual machinery (2–5 years
  • A sharp eye for tight tolerances, quality standards, and machining efficience
  • Associate degree or CNC programming certifications? Even better
  • Bonus points for SolidWorks Pro, Mastercam, or NIMS certifications

Requirements

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Responsible for precision CNC machine programming, setup and first piece for lathes, mills and 

multi-axis equipment including production and prototype parts. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Create, review and edit precision computer numeric controlled (CNC) machining programs

- Confer daily with operations team to determine requirements to assure efficient workflow

- Maintain programming data base and files for each part and machining center. 

- Provide training, guidance and expertise to all manufacturing teams 

SPECIFIC DUTIES ASSIGNED:

- Understand capability of manufacturing equipment, operations, software, etc

- Create, review and edit computer numeric controlled (CNC) machining programs 

- Perform machine set-ups including first piece to produce conforming parts 

- Provide training, guidance and expertise to machinists, operators and other teams 

- Maintain programming data base and files for each part and machining center

- Support manufacturing operations team by providing input for routers and process flow

- Develop and recommend resources and methods for equipment, tooling materials, processes, etc

- Track and evaluate costs and efficiency including tooling, material and cycle

- Assist in providing information for quotations and contract reviews 

- Perform additional tasks as trained and able

Ability to create and maintain documentation for reports, procedures, databases, spreadsheets, etc.

Excellent writing/speaking skills and the ability to communicate professionally, objectively and effectively

Sufficient ability to read, write and speak in English and be understood; and ability to follow instructions

Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to be able to read and view paperwork, ledgers, computer screens, etc.

Sufficient manual dexterity to type and operate office equipment as related to fulfilling assigned duties

Ability to understand and fully support the company Mission, Safety and Quality policies to the letter of each

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School/GED diploma from an accredited institution

5 years of applicable CNC programming experience in a manufacturing/production environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must have ability to speak and sight/hearing senses; or use prosthetics to enable and adequately perform the job 

Must be able to stand/sit continuously daily and twist, turn, bend and reach freely without pain or discomfort 

Must have sufficient dexterity in both hands and arms to perform routine typing and use of office equipment 

Must be able to drive a motor vehicle and be able to travel using all modes of transportation including airlines 

Physical activity: Sitting, walking, standing, typing, holding, grasping, etc. approximately 99% of time 

Bending, reaching outwards/above shoulders, and lifting twenty pounds unassisted approximately 1% of time 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Job activities are generally performed in a lighted and ventilated office environment in conjunction with a factory setting 

where one will be exposed to changes in ambient temperature, noise and dust without abnormal hazards or risks.
