CNC Technician - Specialty Parts Summary/Objective
The CNC Technician supports product development, process engineering, and manufacturing activities with a primary focus on Designer Sheet, Thermoforming, and CNC operations. This position works closely with the Process Engineer, Supervisor, Quality, and cross-functional teams to develop new products and applications, improve manufacturing processes, troubleshoot technical issues, and transition product concepts into reliable production processes. A key focus of the role is supporting the continued development of designer sheet products and thermoforming applications. The CNC Technician will assist with product development, tooling, process setup, CNC programming, technical documentation, and continuous improvement. Essential Functions

- Support setup, programming, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC and thermoforming equipment.
- Assist with development and optimization of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, machine settings, and production methods.
- Provide hands-on technical support for production setups, new product introductions, process changes, and quality concerns.
- Review drawings, specifications, and customer requirements and translate them into CNC programs, work instructions, process parameters, and other manufacturing documentation.
- Plan, coordinate, and participate in developments involving designer sheet, Press, Thermoforming, and CNC processes.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions related to quality, scrap, downtime, process variation, and equipment performance.
- Support tooling and fixture design using CAD and coordinate with internal resources and vendors for tooling development, modification, and implementation.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities related to quality, cycle time, material utilization, productivity, and process repeatability.
- Maintain technical documentation, engineering changes, configuration records, programs, drawings, and process standards.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance, Scheduling, and Operations to resolve technical and production issues.
- Provide technical guidance and training to production employees on established processes, programs, equipment settings, and work instructions.

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, communicate, and work around manufacturing equipment. The position may require bending, reaching, climbing, lifting or handling tooling and materials, and working around machinery in accordance with established safety procedures. This is a full-time position. Hours of work and days are based on the department production schedule. Additional hours may be required according to production demands. Work Environment This position works in both a professional office environment and an active manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses computers, CAD/CAM software, CNC equipment, thermoforming equipment, hand tools, measuring equipment, and other manufacturing technology. No travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology or a related technical discipline or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience.
- Experience with CNC machining, thermoforming, plastics processing, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing equipment is preferred.
- Working knowledge of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, dimensions, and tolerances.
- CAD knowledge and experience in any: CNC programming, machining, thermoforming, or plastics processing.
