Coater Industrial Maintenance Technician (Over Night)

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Work safely - Use LOTO and wear appropriate PPE as required for the job/task
•Keep equipment running by answering trouble calls
a. Coating line, 100” PVD coater expanded 5 times by Cardinal CG
b .New Edger, Glass edging line manufactured by Cardinal AG
c. Old Edger – Rebuilt glass edging line.
d. Plant equipment – air compressors, cooling towers, water pumps, etc.
e. Responsible for all mechanical repairs, assisting electrical repairs if no prior experience or knowledge
•Troubleshooting
a. Ensure the root cause of the issue has been addressed or reported
b. Knowledge of electrical systems
1. Very good understanding of electricity and currents
2. Knowledgeable with 480v and 277v, 3 phase, breakers, disconnects, motor starters, motor inverters, transformers, motors, and overloads are amongst some
3. The ability to test the above equipment, in case it fails, to determine its functionality
4. Knowledgeable with high output power supply functions & repairs. (600V variable frequency 40-80kHz)
5. Knowledge in control wiring practices using 24vac, 24vdc, and 110vac
6. Able to read electrical prints as drawn using US and international standards and symbols
7. Familiar with PLC’s ability to describe the typical structure and layout in detail
8. Ability to maneuver around ladder logic programs by different manufacturers such as AB, GE, etc.
9. Knowledge of ladder logic functions and familiarization with operands so that the programs can be used to troubleshoot equipment
10. Ability to modify circuits to accept changes such as remote on/off, gauging, current limit, circuit isolation, extra/new switches, new branch circuits, i/o modification, terminal assignments, sizing of motor starters and protection, extra devices, etc.
11. Familiar with the use of electrical testing equipment such as DMM (digital and analog), Meg-ohm-meter (megger), ammeter, data loggers, oscilloscope.
•Keeping open communication between other maintenance techs, operators, and management. Written communication in MP2, logbooks and shop whiteboard.
•Conduct walk through 2X/shift, complete work orders in order of priority, write work orders for tasks completed
•Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment; upkeep of work area and assigned maintenance cart
