Coating Operator plays a key role in applying protective or functional coatings to materials like steel, aluminum, or plastic sheets. Here's what the role typically involves:

Core Responsibilities

• Machine Setup & Operation: Operates coating machines that apply resins, paints, or other solutions to continuous sheets or rolled substrates.
• Surface Preparation: Cleans and preps surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of coatings.
• Coating Application: Applies coatings using spray guns, rollers, or automated systems to meet specific thickness and quality standards.
• Quality Control: Monitors coated materials for defects like wrinkles, uneven coverage, or breaks; performs touch-ups or rework as needed.
• Process Monitoring: Adjusts feed speed, tension, and drying temperatures to maintain consistency and prevent defects2.
• Maintenance & Safety: Performs routine equipment checks, maintains a clean work area, and follows strict safety protocols including PPE usage.
