The Coatings Foreman directs the activities of the blasting and painting team in our Fabrication Yard located in Houma, LA.
Essential Functions:
Instruct and train painters and/or sandblasters to work safely and efficiently and to follow established painting and/or sandblasting practices and procedures
Schedules and directs painting and/or sandblasting crews in the performance of applicable activities
Promote Companies HS&E Program/Policies
Conducts 1st line inspection of work in progress to ensure that it is acceptable to applicable codes and standards, project specifications and quality assurance procedures
Supervises the inspection of all painting and/or sandblasting equipment each day to ensure safety and proper working conditions and report any unsafe condition or equipment in need of repair to supervisor
Coordinates department activities with other departments and divisions as required
Ensures Company equipment is properly handled and maintained
Monitors performance of assigned personnel and reports it to the supervisor
Keep up with waste by making sure waste is picked up and disposed of in a timely manner
Blast and/or paint structures and pipe as needed
Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements
Physical Requirements:
Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, talking, hearing and seeing
Turning, twisting and bending
Pushing, pulling and reaching
Must be able to lift and/or move 25-50 pounds
Job Requirements:
Knowledge of practice and procedures for painting and/or sandblasting activities in a Fabrication Yard environment
Ability to blast and/or paint surfaces
Ability to lead and motivate a team
Communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
Desirable Experience, Education, and Training:
3 + years of Paint/Coatings Foreman experience required
Highschool diploma or GED.
Tools, Equipment, and Technology:
Respirator hoods, spray guns, blast hoses, and other blasting and painting equipment
Environmental Conditions:
80-90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc. They will also be exposed to paint thinner and paint fumes.
