Job Description - Cobot Robotic Weld Operator-Technician-III-2nd Shift

Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Cobot Robotic Weld Operator-Technician-III-2nd Shift. \n\nThe rate for this position is $20.94 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential. The core hours are Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm until 1:00 am. \n\n\nThis position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThe Robotic Weld Cell Operator is responsible for operating and supporting a collaborative (cobot) welding cell. This role ensures product quality through proper machine operation, inspections, and part measurements, while also identifying process improvements and completing required daily maintenance activities.\n\n * Operate collaborative welding robots (cobots) to produce high-quality welds on a variety of workpieces.\n * Set up, start, change over, and shut down cobot welding operations according to established procedures.\n * Fabricate components from steel, aluminum, and cast metals by following blueprints and engineering specifications.\n * Perform metal joining and cutting operations using cobots, ensuring accurate execution of programmed weld paths.\n * Inspect welded products for quality and verify dimensions using tape measures and calipers.\n * Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in root cause analysis for quality or production issues.\n * Complete daily TPM and 5S maintenance tasks using established checklists.\n\n\n\nThis job posting describes the general nature and level of work being performed and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, or skills required. Other duties may be assigned as business needs require.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic: \n\n * High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.\n * 1 year of manufacturing experience.\n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc. \n * No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Greenwood, SC will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\n\n\n\nPreferred:\n\n * Experience as a machine operator or a graduate of a machine certificate program.\n * Experience in sheet metal fabrication, including standard punch and bend tooling and processes.\n * Experience reading blueprints, manufacturing diagrams, or operating instructions.\n * Experience with measuring devices (tape measure and calipers).\n * Experience with ERP systems including DMM and AS-400.\n\n\n\nPosition Criteria:\n\n * Willing to work flexible hours and overtime in support of business needs.\n * Utilize various hand and power tools, step ladder and crane to assemble and verify quality in a Lean environment.\n * Must be able to use standard computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook/Teams and job specific programs such as ENOVIA.\n * Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills\n * Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.\n\n\n\nPhysical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):\n\n * Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle or feel objects and materials.\n * Frequently required to stoop and perform tasks involving lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to or exceeding 50 pounds.\n * Vision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and color distinction.\n\n\n\nWork Environment:\n\n * Regular exposure to noise while performing job duties.\n * Frequent exposure to dust in the work area.\n\n\n\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
