Position Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled Code Fitter Welder to join a manufacturing company in Sand Springs. The ideal candidate must be able to pass an ASME Code Section 8 Welding Test (2" schedule 160 carbon, 6G pipe test, GTAW [TIG] all the way out, FCAW [Fluxcore]). This opportunity as a Code Fitter Welder involves precision work on ASME code 100% x-ray coils in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind, and bolt components into position for welding.
• Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance.
• Develop templates and models for welding projects, using mathematical calculations based on blueprint information.
• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
• Maintain and complete all required records and production documentation.
• Layout and fit nozzles, supports, and couplings per blueprint into coil.
• Remove rough spots from workpieces using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
• Maintain a safe work environment and report defective tools and equipment.
