Manage all state approval activities, including applications, fees, certifications, licenses, and print approvals, ensuring compliance across all 50 states. Maintain and administer the state approval database, including logging requests, completing application paperwork, tracking approvals, and managing related documentation. Monitor design approval status and expiration dates, ensuring timely renewals and re‑submissions, and communicate impacts to internal stakeholders. Track, research, and interpret building code changes, including national and international standards (e.g., NEC, IBC, IFC), and proactively communicate upcoming changes. Serve as a subject‑matter resource on construction methods, materials, and design philosophies, advising internal teams to improve building performance and ensure code compliance. Manage relationships with third‑party plan approval agencies, including submission coordination and shipment of prints as required. Distribute approved prints and supporting documentation to engineering partners, approval agencies, and internal stakeholders, and maintain organized filing systems for all designs. Monitor production schedules to ensure required state approvals are secured prior to production start dates. Prepare and maintain regular reports on approval status, expired prints, and approvals in process. Assist customers with the state approval process and related documentation requirements. Establish and uphold ethical, fair, and professional practices while ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures. Associate's degree from an accredited institution Two years of experience with building code compliance Ability and willingness to travel domestically to obtain inspection certifications and / or State licensure examinations Associate's degree from an accredited institution with a concentration in Architecture or Building Science Two years of experience working as a local inspector or Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) Ability to interpret and comprehend all building codes / versions, including but not limited to national electric code, international building code, international fire code, etc. Ability to maintain inspection certification or State licensure Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both internally and externally. Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion. High degree of professionalism.
