Coding Technician - Heart and Vascular Clinic (HVC)

Valley View's Heart and Vascular Center is seeking a full-time Coding Technician to assist with charge entry.  

Will require in-person training and some in person; but mainly remote.   

Will cross train to HIM to provide additional coverage. 

PRIMARY DUTIES

1. Complete knowledge and back up of job function of insurance follow-up, billers, scheduler, and medical records.


2. Supports the scheduler team in collecting payments and creating payment plans, as needed.


3. Communicates recurring issues to supervisor for process improvement.


4. Completes charge entry for all visits and procedures on a daily basis in Heart and Vascular.


5. Completes missing slips on a daily basis in Heart and Vascular.


6. Works with PFS in completing the daily prior authorization schedule for Heart and Vascular.


7. Enters orders into for echo/vascular on a daily basis


8. Performs reports on TOS collections. Works with director and staff to improve TOS collections.

REQUIREMENTS

• Medical Coding Certificate required


• Attention to detail


• 1-3 years in Hospital setting preferred


• General accounting skills preferred


• Computer skills, Microsoft Office suite, Athena and Meditech experience preferred
