Job Description - Cognitive Neuroscience Research Scientist
DCS Air and Space Technology Sector is seeking a scientist to support current research efforts in the Applied Cognitive Neuroscience (ACN) Branch at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). The ACN branch supports human subject experiments to discover and develop products/technology solutions to optimize the performance of multi-domain Airman and Guardians. As a member of our team, you will work on the Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation (NIBS) Team and support U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and AFRL efforts in Dayton, OH. This offers opportunities to work in a dynamic environment with state-of-the-art technologies and Subject Matter experts (SME). The NIBS Team focuses in researching non-invasive neuromodulation techniques to optimize performance in our Airmen and Guardians. In this position you will gain experience in all aspects of human performance research, from study initiation to close out.

Essential Job Functions:
Conduct data collection for ongoing human performance studies, both at WPAFB and other bases.
Aid in administrative tasks related to studies such as subject payment, recruitment, scheduling, and data organization.
Comfortable with learning to administer neuromodulation in research studies (tVNS, tTNS, TUS, etc.)
Works well as a member of a discipline team in a dynamic multi-tasking environment.
Additional Duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
A bachelor's degree in a STEM-focused field relating to Cognitive Neuroscience (Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, General Engineering, Psychology, etc.)
Ability to adhere to IRB requirements and standards.
Ability to work independently, as well as with a team.
Ability to work with research participants.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to travel up to 20%, airline travel required.
Ability to occasionally support sleep deprivation and restriction studies outside normal business hours.
Possession of excellent English oral and written communication skills.
Desired Skills:
Previous experience conducting human subject research.
Previous experience using Neurotechnology's (i.e., EEG, tVNS).
Previous experience with coding (i.e., MATLAB, Python).
