Cold Storage Custodian/Lumper

Pyramid Transport & Cold Storage is seeking a dedicated Janitor/Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our facilities in Cranston, RI. This role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sweep refrigerated and frozen food storage areas and docks.


• Utilize industrial vacuum cleaners, scrubbing and buffing machines for cleaning floors.


• Clean walls, ceilings, and fixtures using ladders when necessary.


• (Lumping) - Loading and unloading cargo containers


• Operating ride-on pallet jacks and other material handling equipment. * Training provided.


• Address stains on various surfaces with appropriate cleaning solutions.


• Empty trash receptacles and maintain cleanliness of breakroom, office, bathroom, and locker areas.


• Remove external facility trash and maintain exterior cleanliness.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Degree preferred.


• Experience: Previous janitorial experience is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to bend and lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and up to 70 lbs with assistance occasionally.


• Stand and walk for extended periods.


• Proficient use of hands for handling objects and tools.


• Clear communication abilities.


• Overhead lifting capacity.


• Ability to work in varying temperatures (+70 to -10 degrees F) and moderate noise levels.

• Willingness to work overtime as needed.


• Good arithmetic and reading skills.


• Ability to follow instructions and company policies.


• Self-motivated with the capability to work independently and collaboratively.


• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
