Sunflower Bank, N.A. is looking to fill the full-time position of Collections Associate in Austin, TX. The Collections Associate position assists in managing and maintaining the overdraft privilege portfolio. The position also assists with consumer collections, as required.

• Prepare and mail collection notices and letters.
• Contact past due accounts at regular intervals to reform the borrower’s past due status.
• Manage and negotiate special payment arrangements on ODP collection accounts and applicable consumer accounts, recommending charge offs where payments have not been made as agreed at the appropriate time.
• Responsible for collection of charged off accounts adhering to the standard that ODP accounts are charged off upon 55 days of delinquency.
• Responsible for collection of charged off accounts and payments received.
• Conduct skip tracing activities, obtain credit reports where applicable as needed.

Education / Experience Preferred:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess experience in general banking.
• Must possess ability to initiate telephone calls and effectively communicate with customers concerning overdrawn accounts.
• Must possess proficiency to effectively utilize software tools and programs, e.g., Excel and other spreadsheet software, collection software and other computer systems such as Pathways.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  Pay is dependent on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and location.
