Collections Representative
Livonia, MI
$23-25/hour
3-month Temporary, possible Temp-To-Hire
2 weeks in person training, then remote
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Collections Representative. As a Collections Representative, you will be responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payment collections, and maintaining positive customer relationships. Your exceptional communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills will be essential in this role. You will collaborate with various departments to address customer issues and provide updates to the management team. Day in the Life
After grabbing your favorite morning beverage and booting up your computer, you can expect to:
- Review your customer list of contacts for the day
- Reach out to customers to review and collect payments
- Schedule payments with customers
- Record notes in our internal system
- Collaborate with other departments to address any customer issues (i.e. Customer Service, Sales, etc.)
- Provide customer status updates to management team
- Interact with collection agencies as needed
- Coordinate with collection agencies when necessary to facilitate debt recovery
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and colleagues
What you need to apply
- Associate’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Three to four years of commercial collection experience
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with Microsoft E365
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with customers
- Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Ability to remain professional and polite under pressure
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to work with cross-functional teams
