ABOUT THE JOB:

Are you a proactive problem-solver with a passion for customer service? We seek a Collections Specialist to join our team in a dynamic role combining excellent customer service with assertive receivables management. As a Collections Specialist, you will be the key point of contact for our customers, ensuring their issues are resolved promptly and efficiently while actively working to reduce delinquent receivables. Your ability to communicate effectively, handle sensitive situations with empathy, and maintain a positive attitude will be crucial to your success in this role. This role has openings in our Baltimore, MD and Phoenix, AZ offices

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Place calls to and receive calls from past-due account holders according to established calling guidelines to discuss payment of past-due invoices
Utilize company collection workflow software and ensure clear and concise documentation of all customer correspondence
Manage a portfolio of accounts ranging from 250 to 1,000 accounts, from small customers to large corporations
Generate and respond to written correspondence (letters, e-mails, calls, etc.) in a timely, professional, and compliant manner, redirecting when necessary
Maintain accurate documentation reflective of the conversation and subsequent resolution reached with our customers
Manage collection objectives and KPIs using a high degree of professionalism and persuasiveness
Make recommendations for the next steps when accounts become un-performing or unresponsive
Complete skip tracing when contact with the customer ceases
Work effectively with a salesperson, branch personnel, and other team members in resolving account
Resolve unapplied cash by working with the customer to obtain correct remit info, informing the customer when to send for subsequent payments
This is a team-based role and may assist in supporting other aspects; helping drive our company's strategies and promote our Mission, Vision, and Values.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

3+ years of collections experience, preferably in a business-to-business environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office environment, including Word and Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High degree of professionalism
Strong attention to detail
Keen listening skills and ability to persuade others
Ambitious, goal-orientated and self-motivated
