GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Processes and balances $15 million in credit card collections annually, sets up E-notify messaging and "Text “the Taxpayer" messaging (taxpayer reminders). Maintains a good relationship with our credit card vendor and personnel. Annually, processes $105 million in paper checks that are received from taxpayer payments. Makes virtual deposits and works closely with our bank vendors. Assist the taxpayers in person and on the phone. Takes credit card payments on the phone and in person. Daily balance of cash drawer, receipting several million dollars annually, accounting for various entities associated with tax collections, collecting fees for various improvement district and fire districts. Maintain interpersonal relationships with 17 other office staff and several County Official’s Office staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Process and balance $15 million annually in credit card payments.
2. Maintain our "Text the Taxpayer” database.
3. Maintain our E-Notify database.
4. Virtual check deposits daily, $105 million annually.
5. Maintain credit card forms for payments when system is down.
6. Train staff on all credit card procedures.
7. Cash handling; balancing cash drawer.
8. Applying taxpayer payments to correct account.
9. Determining whether a taxpayer should receive a clearance for tags.
10. Determining which tax accounts are paid first and last.
11. Customer Service skills.
12. Verifying and changing addresses, emails, & phone numbers.
13. Editing E-Statement Forms and applying to taxpayer's accounts.
14. Maintain customer cell phone numbers with taxpayer account numbers for text messages.
15. Assist taxpayers that call.
16. Works with Assessor's office with delinquent collections.
17. Ability to work in Bryant office when necessary.
18. Working overtime during March and October.
19. Returns taxpayer email inquiries.
20. Research delinquent taxpayers for final notice.
21. Back-up, check voice mails, returning answers to taxpayers.
22. Back-up Paper Journal for end of the month balancing.
23. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 3 years related experience and/or training, and 7 to 11 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certification in Microsoft Suite, High School Diploma, two years technical college, three years related work experience, Two years Cash handling experience, Customer Service Skills.
SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED
Intermediate: 10-Key, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Word Processing/Typing
USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS
Regular use of complex machines and equipment (desktop/laptop computer and software, road and production machines and equipment, driver's license/cdl, etc.)
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal working conditions as found within an office setting, wherein there is controlled temperature and a low noise level, plus a minimum of distractions.

The position involves regular and irregular hours needed to perform related duties. Work hours may be extended during peak collection times.
Needs to have the following: cashing handling proficiency, ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in written form, expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and working as a team.
