Responsible for collection and administrative activities on delinquent mortgage and consumer loan accounts.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Contacts past due Mortgage and Consumer customers making outbound calls, e-mailing, texting or mailing notifications to them when applicable.
Takes inbound calls and responds to messages received through all other forms of communication.
Establishes reasons for delinquency through customer contact, making payment arrangements and providing solutions through extensions, collection rewrites, modifications, forbearance agreements and payment plans.
Maintains accurate collection records and documents details of calls in Ice or Insight.
Follows up with debtors regarding broken payment arrangements.
Follows up on auto loan titles that have not been received through normal course.
Prepares guarantee of title for Insurance total loss claims along with various other administrative duties pertaining to the collection process.
Responsible for the completion of all compliance training related to the position.
Understand all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and complies with the requirements.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs all other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
One (1) year experience preferred or equivalent experience in a related field preferred.
Prior collections (consumer and or mortgage), customer service and banking experience preferred.
Working knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other collection legislation preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of collection compliance regulations on FHA/VA loans and other investor requirements preferred.
Ability to stay focused and organized while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication both verbal and written.
Good PC skills.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma/GED required.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel as needed for meetings, projects, seminars, etc.
