College-Level Reading Instructor

ATS Institute of Technology has been successfully helping students achieve their educational goals since 1998. We are currently seeking a full-time College-Level Reading Instructor to join our team of motivated and passionate educators. This is an opportunity for a determined individual to help inspire our students to realize their educational and career goals, furthermore to help students develop the necessary skills in reading comprehension, writing, and study skills to build a foundation for success in nursing school. SUMMARY:

We are seeking a passionate and student-centered College-Level Reading Instructor to provide foundational support in reading comprehension and academic literacy for students in our Practical Nursing program. This instructor will play a critical role in preparing students for success in healthcare coursework by improving their reading fluency, vocabulary, critical thinking, and overall academic confidence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teach reading and literacy skills to students requiring additional support
• Create a welcoming, student-centered learning environment that encourages growth
• Use engaging, evidence-based instructional strategies focused on adult learners
• Design and deliver lessons that improve comprehension, academic vocabulary, and analysis of complex texts
• Track progress and provide meaningful feedback to help students stay on course
• Collaborate with academic support and faculty teams to reinforce student success initiatives

• Masters degree in Reading or Literacy.
• 1 year of recent college teaching experience.
• College training or working knowledge in teaching reading comprehension.
• Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with a sense of desire to support students.
• Effective classroom facilitators who enjoy teaching in a culturally diverse, student-centered environment.
• Strong communication skills
