COMBO Heavy Duty Repairman/Welder

Purpose of Position:

Performs many of the following responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, diagnosis and repair vehicles and equipment using current diagnostic equipment.


• Use commercial and military service and repair manuals and wiring semantics


• Repair automotive vehicles from pickup trucks to heavy equipment such as loaders, laydown machines, etc.


• Repair/rebuild vehicle systems including but not limited to hydraulic, brake, steering, engine, transmissions, differentials, and water/product distributing.


• Follow all HAZMAT and shop safety procedures.


• Complete all job related paperwork correctly.


• Perform annual and safety inspections on all vehicle and equipment assigned.


• Remove and replace engines and transmission assemblies and/or components.


• Perform welding on various types of metals and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma, or equivalent.

Experience:

• Must have at least 4 years' experience in the vehicle mechanic career field


• Must have an in-depth knowledge of electronic engine control diagnostic equipment


• Must have experience working on general-purpose automobiles to heavy equipment


• Must have experience working on material handling equipment


• Must have experience performing overheads, teardowns and rebuilds on diesel engines to include removing and installing them


• Must have experience performing overhauls on gasoline engines as well as removing and installing engines


• Must have welding certifications on the MIG/TIG/Plasma and ARC welding


• Class A Nevada CDL is desirable

Technical Skills:

• Must be able to meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance (Top Secret/SSBI) and access to work locations.


• Must be a US Citizen


• Ability to use good judgment and common sense while performing job functions, ability to follow written and verbal instructions, ability to be punctual and possess patience to work under stressful conditions


• Ability to identify areas requiring immediate attention and the use of practical skill to solve problems


• May be required to spend 3-5 nights away from home on a weekly basis.
