This leadership role is located in Roy, Utah. \n\nThis is a leadership position with executive interactions internally and externally, and the successful candidate must display consistent impeccable judgment and embody Northrop Grumman Value and Leadership behaviors. The successful candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels of customer and executive leadership and should be able to coordinate geographically dispersed teams.\n\nWhat You Will Get To Do:\n\nDrive hardware engineering execution as a leader across the SDS Division portfolio of programs while reporting into the Command Systems Business Unit (BU) organization. The Command Systems (CS) Hardware Design and implementation lead will:\n\n * Set the vision for design engineering team to successfully execute hardware engineering for the Sentinel Command Systems BU\n * Establish and direct the implementation of integrated hardware engineering process across the CS Organization, driving consistency and implementation across program/product teams at all national locations and multiple subcontractor locations.\n * Drive a culture of empowerment and accountability that enables the team to efficiently execute to achieve results on time\n * Establish and direct the implementation of hardware engineering processes used in the design and development of the SDS Division, at all levels of decomposition.\n * Manage all aspects of development across mission/weapon system engineering, subsystem/component hardware design engineering as well as nuclear surety and SDS program specific processes and enablers\n * Ensure Hardware Engineering product quality and consistency and manage auditing and oversight functions, including metrics development and management.\n * Interface closely with the product/program team leadership and implement program engineering priorities for the team\n * Lead and oversee all architectural scope for the CS Hardware including:\n * Launch Execution systems\n * Wing operations and Physical Security systems\n * Communications\n * Design Integration\n * Work across product teams and the Command Systems BU to ensure that hardware design is consistent, holistic, robust, and maintainable across the BU.\n * Programmatic and technical execution, oversight \u0026 management for Command Systems hardware in the Command Systems BU to include commercial and custom hardware solutions.\n * Perform proactive risk and opportunity management supporting full product lifecycle for the Command System provided elements of the system\n * Ensure on time release of all hardware engineering, focusing on hardware design compliance and delivery\n * Successfully deliver Command Systems hardware designs and implementations in support of the Sentinel CS BU. Specifics include custom hardware, integration of COTS applications, and integration onto the hardware platforms\n * Ensure Command Systems hardware meets requirements and successfully integrates with the rest of the weapon system (both internally to Command Systems and to the other Sentinel BUs as required\n * Ensure successful integration of supplier hardware solutions to the overall Command Systems BU\n * Provide technical leadership and mentoring to all levels of engineering staff\n * Support BU allocation and coordination of hardware engineering resources across various efforts\n * Provide support to various business development and capture efforts as required\n * Ensure clear lines of communication with the customer regarding technical and programmatic topics of interest\n\n\n\nAdditional responsibilities may include:\n\n * Horizontally integrate across Design Engineering directorate as well as members of the Engineering and Manufacturing Operations organization to ensure consistency of design engineering approach. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.\n\nThis role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.\n\nYou Will Bring These Qualifications:\n\nBachelor\u2019s Degree with 10 years of progressive engineering experience, or Master\u2019s and 8 years\u2019 of experience.\n\nExperience managing people\n\n5+ years experience designing and developing hardware.\n\n5+ years experience with EVMS on hardware development programs\n\nActive DoD Secret clearance, investigation must have been completed within last 5 years.\n\nThese Qualifications Are Nice To Have:\n\n * Exemplifies and demonstrates strong leadership characteristics and upholds company values\n * ICBM or complex aerospace systems experience\n * Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience\n * Prior experience interfacing with prime contractor site leads and USAF leadership personnel\n * Active DoD TS/SCI clearance\n * Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or control account manager\n * Demonstrated effectiveness in achieving results through managing people and understanding and management of internal processes and customer/supplier relationships.\n * Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, hardware, etc.)\n * Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities\n * Experience in working closely with customers to ensure delivery of systems that meet warfighter needs\n * Ability to collaborate and achieve consensus when dealing with groups from diverse organizations and backgrounds\n * Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations\n * Strong sense of urgency and work ethic in ensuring engineering meets customer and program expectations in a timely and efficient manner\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $230,000.00 - $345,000.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
