Parameta Solutions’ offering includes real-time price information from the major OTC financial and commodity markets delivering high quality independent data in a number of asset classes including Rates, FX and Money Markets, Volatility, Oil, Energy, Inflation, Credit and Equities. 

Parameta Solutions’ strategy focuses on three pillars: (1) distribution via third-party channels, as well as direct channels, such as the cloud; (2) offering more innovative products, including evidential data solutions and benchmarks and indices; (Parameta is an FCA authorised benchmark administrator in the UK and an ESMA authorised benchmark administrator in the EU, making it the first Inter Dealer Broker to administer OTC benchmarks and indices across Europe and the UK); and (3) expanding its buy-side client base.

Role Overview

Role Responsibilities

• Dedicated legal and commercial advice and legal risk management advice for the Parameta Solutions business within the TP ICAP Group.

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating outbound market data license agreements and other commercial contracts across Parameta Solutions’ client base.

• Advising on internal compliance rule book drafting in conjunction with Group Compliance.

• Collaborating and advising on commercial projects and strategic initiatives.

• Collaborating with business and other support function stakeholders to understand and provide legal guidance on business objectives, coaching stakeholders toward optimal outcomes, and consistently balancing commercial ambition with legal risk and the Group’s strategic priorities, including providing and participating in training.

• Partnering with commercial, operations and sales teams to design and support optimised processes and procedures for sales and contracts management, including adoption and use of AI.

• Managing, drafting and assisting the business with all other commercial contracts, including inbound and intra-group licensing, technology procurement, collaboration and partnership agreements, support and non-disclosure agreements.

• In conjunction with Compliance and the broader TP ICAP legal team, ensuring compliance with US law and regulation including monitoring legal and regulatory change for the business. 

• Assisting with review of Parameta Solutions’ public facing marketing collateral.

• Partnering with the broader TP ICAP in-house legal teams in EMEA, Americas and APAC in relation to areas of subject matter expertise (including employment, regulatory, data protection, M&A and material litigation) on Parameta Solutions legal matters.

• Engaging and managing (including costs) external counsel in conjunction with legal management and the broader TP ICAP legal team.

Experience / Competences

Essential

• Qualified attorney admitted to practice in New York.

• Minimum 3+ years’ post-qualification experience, in private practice or in-house.

• Strong experience in commercial contracts and/or corporate law, ideally within: Market data / Financial services / Data or technology-led businesses

• Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex Licensing agreements, Commercial contracts and Strategic partnerships and collaborations

• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice.

• Experience supporting cross-functional and large-scale projects.

• Proactive, solutions-oriented self-starter with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

• High attention to detail with strong organisational and prioritisation capabilities.

• Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgement on escalation.

• Collaborative team player, comfortable contributing within a lean, high-performing legal team.

• Experience designing or improving legal processes and operational efficiency, particularly in scaling or transformation environments.

Desired

• Previous experience supporting a market data, financial information, or fintech business, with a strong understanding of data licensing models and monetisation strategies.

• Familiarity with global data regulations, including: Data privacy and protection frameworks and Intellectual property considerations in data usage

• Exposure to US regulatory frameworks relevant to financial services and data distribution.

• Experience operating in a global, matrixed organisation, working across multiple jurisdictions and stakeholder groups.

• Demonstrated involvement in digital transformation initiatives, including the use of legal technology and AI-enabled tools in contracting or workflow optimisation.

• Experience supporting product development, data commercialisation strategies, or platform-based businesses.

• Strong interest in innovation and the evolving data and analytics landscape within financial markets.

Salary Range

• The expected base salary range for this role is $130,000 – $180,000, with final compensation determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
