Description
The Commercial Banker position is primarily responsible for performing a wide variety of customer services and for providing assistance to the Community Bank President and other leaders in a number of ways to provide excellent customer service to customers. Requires working knowledge of bank products and services and prior commercial loan experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Majority of duties, but not meant to be all inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary)
§ Performs basic secretarial duties such as receiving and distributing mail, maintaining a calendar, receiving, and screening telephone calls and visitors. Responds to inquiries or routes caller to appropriate personnel.
§ Performs loan support duties such as running credit bureau reports, filing, making copies, using word processing and spreadsheet programs, taking loan payments, processing loan extensions, etc.
§ Takes loan applications. Collects fees and documentation related to funded loans. Prepares loan documentation.
§ Communicates with people inside and outside the corporation to exchange information and/or provide customer service.
§ Is cross-trained in other areas within the department to provide back-up for other staff members during peak periods, employee absences and staffing emergencies.
§ Establishes, maintains, and updates departmental files and records.
§ Responds to inquiries regarding account information, may assist customers in balancing statements and loan information.
§ Researches and resolves problems, initiates and follows-up research requests.
§ Handles loan closings as needed.
§ Scans documents/files into document imaging system.
§ Verifies all documentation for accuracy and completeness.
§ Runs CIP/OFAC on new customers and businesses.
§ Gathers documentation request by loan officer and for compliance.
§ Limited Loan Authority
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
§ Demonstrated ability to apply proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format to typed material.
§ Moderate computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
§ Basic accounting skills to perform balancing, reconciliation, reporting and analysis functions.
§ Basic knowledge of all bank products and services, policies, and procedures.
§ Ability to explain some bank products and services in order to sell and cross-sell bank products and services and respond to customer inquiries.
§ Moderate written, oral, and interpersonal skills with ability to provide information and courteous responses to requests.
§ Prior commercial loan processing experience desired.
§ Strong knowledge of and presence in the community and market area desired.
§ At least 90 days in current position desired.
