Commercial Dog Treat Baker

We are seeking a skilled and creative Commercial Dog Treat Baker with a passion for quality and innovation to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have professional baking experience, a strong understanding of food production machinery, and a natural intuition for recipe formulation and execution. Experience in dog treat or pet food production is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bake and prepare a variety of high-quality dog treats in accordance with company recipes and production schedules.

• Operate and maintain industrial baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, wire cutters, and depositors.

• Assist in the development and testing of new dog treat formulations, including texture, flavor, and nutritional profile.

• Follow standardized operating procedures, ensuring consistency, cleanliness, and food safety at all times.

• Maintain proper documentation of ingredient usage, batch records, and production logs.

• Monitor baking times, temperatures, and batch yields to ensure optimal product quality.

• Collaborate with the product development team to innovate and refine new offerings.

• Assist in managing ingredient inventory and notify supervisors of needed supplies.

• Ensure compliance with relevant food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, AAFCO, state guidelines).

• Clean and sanitize equipment and workstations following each production run.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of professional baking experience in a commercial kitchen, bakery, or food production facility.

• Strong intuitive baking ability with a creative eye for developing consistent, high-quality products.

• Experience working with industrial baking machinery and an understanding of food production processes.

• Knowledge of ingredient functions, shelf-stability, and scaling formulations.

• Pet food or dog treat baking experience is a major plus.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced production environment.

• A passion for animals and interest in natural, healthy pet products is highly valued.
