Commercial Driver

Description

The Commercial Driver (Class A) is responsible for operating commercial vehicles and heavy-duty trucks to tow trailers and transport materials, equipment, and construction supplies to various commercial jobsites. The ideal candidate will have experience transporting commercial construction equipment and supplies. During non-drive or standby hours, the driver will assist with warehouse and/or yard duties to support the operations team. The scheduled shift is Sunday to Thursday, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Overtime may be available but is not guaranteed. 

Responsibilities

• Safely operates flatbed vehicles, heavy duty trucks, box trucks and/or service body vehicles
• Hook up and tow trailers as needed using a heavy-duty vehicle
• Load and unload cargo with proper tie-down protocols
• Track and document activity drive logs
• Communicate delivery expectations and updates with dispatch and management
• Complete pre and post check vehicle inspections
• Performs warehouse and yard duties when not hauling freight
• Additional duties assigned in the warehouse or yard as needed

Requirements

• Class A commercial driver's license accepted by the FMCSA
• Minimum of two years commercial driving experience within a construction environment
• Ability to perform physical work, lifting or pulling up to 50lb occasionally during the work shift
• Pass a pre-employment DOT drug test
• Current DOT medical form
